Dan teaches the 16-18 year olds for Sunday school at our church.
He was showing this (click here to view if you haven't seen it done) video to them... Luke II- and it's very touching when you put it to the music "Breath of Heaven" by Amy Grant.
He just had the vhs tape, and a cd player to mix the two together. So he put the tape in, and pushed play on the cd player... sound on the tv was off. Little did he realize, the closed-captioning was ON!
Needless to say, it was a little distracting. When the video showed the donkeys, words came up on the screen, "donkeys braying"..... When it showed the chickens it said, "chicken's clucking"....
So throughout, the kids in Dan's class giggled and suppressed little chuckles.. but it wasn't THAT bad... until at the very end, it showed the beautiful scene of Mary and baby Jesus... and the music crescendo-ed to the best part singing, "Breath of Heaven.... Breath of Heaven..."... That's when the closed-captioning read: "Woman grunting w/ labor pains"
Yeah. Pretty much killed the spirit of it all. Hee hee.
